What learning has taken place at Heyfield Primary School this week?

A lot has taken place again this week, inside and outside the classroom!

Simultaneous Story Time

We had the pleasure to listen to the story ‘Family Tree’ as part of the annual Simultaneous Story Time. Students planted bulbs of Daffodils in the hope they will flower on time for Daffodil Day. Afterwards, they all joined together to draw pictures of the story with chalk. It was great seeing the whole school come as a team.

Learning throughout the week

Art lessons this week were a little different for our grade 5/6 and 1/2 students as I was the replacement teacher. 5/6 students learnt to use straight lines to make a curved line! Something they didn’t know about. They coloured the pattern afterwards and looked proud of their work. Mrs Merlo was missed though and I don’t think I will ever be a creative Art teacher like her! very glad she is back!

Recess and Lunchtime plays were filled with engaging activities: Basketball and Footy are always a favourite. A new game with a mix of tennis and cricket bats appeared. Skipping is still going strong and Cricket is back!

Emily from SEDA took a few classes again today for PE. She will be joining our grade 5/6 for Winter Sports next Friday.
