What learning has taken place at Heyfield Primary School this week?
This week, we have some Art, some camp photos and some special moments !
First let’s celebrate some of our artists.
This week, students learned and painted Uluru. there were beautiful representations of this Wonder. Mrs Merlo also picked on special artist this week: Aiden Prow.
3/4 Camp at Stringybark Lodge in Gembrook.
On Wednesday morning, students from rooms 5 and 6 left for their first camp ever. There was some nervous smiles as they climbed up the stairs of the bus, but there was much excitement too. They enjoyed a walk and talk with an Aboriginal leader in Gembrook, and participated in various activities like Archery, Flying fox and Low ropes course. They ended the camp on a high with riding the Puffing Billy train.
My Town Project
This project was started last term in the 5/6 classes. They designed their houses and town as part of their inquiry. You can see the variations in the designs with some having brick roofs, solar panels or various fences. How clever!
Some news from the office:
We have displayed one of our former student: Olivia Palmer’s bat from Heyfield Bats for Will’s project from 2021. We still have some cricket bats for sale if you wanted to purchase them. Let us know.
New Uniforms: Winter skirts and dresses are available. Please see Ann if you would like to purchase some.
This was the biggest snack we have ever seen! Archer brought this carrot for his fruit break. I think it could have fed the whole class! This is a nice reminder to send fruit with your child each day and avoid sweet snacks as we do not promote lollies at school.
