Safer Routes to School: Road Safety and Poster Activity
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of our Safer Routes to School initiative, students will take part in a one-hour road safety session to learn about safe walking, crossing points, traffic signs, and visibility. These sessions will be run in May, 2025. To reinforce their learning, they will also design road safety posters, which will be displayed around the school to promote awareness. We encourage families to discuss road safety at home and consider walking or cycling together where possible. Please complete the survey https://forms.monday.com/forms/c876959e766578442b2963ce45e25527?r=use1 at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for helping keep children safe!

April’s Fool’s Day!
On Tuesday, we played a prank on teachers! While they thought they were doing an OHS induction with me, in the staffroom, all our students were getting ready to hide in the hall! The photo of teachers was to have evidence they were there for the induction, but also, so I could have evidence for this newsletter. It’s like a double prank, really, because the one thing they do not like… is having their photo taken!! I’m in trouble! HA!
All in all, though, I want to thank the whole staff for a great Term 1. It is so easy to come to work and know that you will be surrounded by beautiful souls, caring and always willing to go beyond their duties. You are ‘one’ in a million.
READING CHALLENGE
Well done! So many students reached the 35 nights of reading (20 for Prep students) by the end of the term, and received a book as a reward!
I wonder what next term will bring! Mrs Taylor is already thinking of the next challenge for you all!
Remember: Read every night and record the book and pages read, then bring your log book to school so we can write it all down!
CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations everyone for running this year’s cross-country. What a beautiful day to be racing amicably against your peers! Well done to all runners who came first, second and third. Some of you don’t even look tired!
Thank you to Quick Cuppa for being there and providing lunches for our students. Thank you to all parents who helped us today, it is always very appreciated. Thank you to all teachers for making sure no one takes the wrong turn! Special thank you to Lachlan Fasoli who organised this year’s cross-country.
I believe next round for cross country is Monday 12th May! Good luck to all our students going to the next stage.
