What happened this week?

Message from Mrs Taylor

The Book Fair will be open from Friday lunchtime, for two weeks. Students and parents will also be able to look at all new books, each day after school.

We receive more and more new books in the library, which means we need to make room. Mrs Taylor had the brilliant idea to place books you can take home, for free, just outside the multipurpose room, on a bookshelf. Do not hesitate to take them to read at home.

Message from Mr Bartlett

What a great start to term two we’ve had in Music. I’m looking forward to a number of performances at some of our assemblies this term. Please put them in your calendar…😊

Week 3 (3rd May) Junior Guitar Group

Week 4 (10th May) Senior Guitar Group

Week 5 (17th May) Drum Group

Week 6 (24th May) Keyboard Group

Week 7 (31st May) Choir (TBC)

There will be more performances announced later in the term…😊

New basketball backboards

We have new backboards for three of our basketball rings. We will endeavour to change the fourth one this year too! Some students were very pleased to be the first ones to try them.

5/6 Camp Conawarra

Students who went on camp had an absolute ball, in the best weather we could have asked for! They experienced the flying fox, high ropes, giant swing and climbing wall, which are not for the faint hearted. They built huts, rafts and made dampers. The learned to paddle in a canoe, without falling in. Those who fell in, did it purposely! They learned to do bushdancing and loved it.

ANZAC Day

Thank you to all parents, students and staff who attended the march yesterday. It was great seeing many of our students paying their respects on such a symbolic day. During the week, students who did not go on camp, made some ANZAC biscuits while students on camp tasted some yummy ANZAC slice too.

Camp Quality

On Wednesday, we have the opportunity to do a free session with Camp Quality. Camp Quality runs a program in schools to teach more about cancer so students can learn about it through stories and with puppets.

I know this can be a very confronting topic for some families and this is why a note has gone home. If you wish your child to be opted out of this session, we will organise for them to do some alternative learning while it is taking place.

If you wish to know more about the program, do not hesitate to contact them. I have also attached their information pamphlet.

Please let us know by Wednesday if you do not wish for your child to attend.
