What happened this week?

A snapshot around the school…

Art/Library - Remembrance Day

Students had the pleasure to learn more about Remembrance Day on Thursday during their Library session with Mrs Merlo. They designed their creation of Fields of Poppies, which some of them have been hanged at the front of the school. We have very creative artists.

Debate

5/6 students have debated around the subject of ‘zombies invading Heyfield’ and what to do if this was to happen! You may think this is not very serious, however be assured that the learning was to write arguments using convincing techniques and to be able to tell/read them in the format of a debate. Students were very nervous and with more practice they will grow more confidence.

WEDNESDAY ACTIVITY

Our golfers had their last week at the Heyfield Golf Club. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped running these worshops. Special thank you to John Turner for organising this for us.

Sewing and visit to the Laurina Lodge were a hoot again.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

The first of four sessions of Wheelchair Basketball took place on Thursday and all students have learned how to manage to wheel while trying to hold the basketball, and it is not easy!
