Wednesday activities

We have new and old activities for the next four weeks:

• Our students were very privileged to show our school to a group of visitors, all residents of Heyfield. How wonderful it was to hear how the school has changed in the past twenty years and some of the stories that cam with it all. Some of the students decided to perform their puppet show learnt in Indonesian and Charlie Wojcinski shared some of his best Dad’s jokes with everyone.

• A footy clinic was a new activity too, especially tailored for students who had never played. Students who had played before could support their novice peers.

• Miss Schmidt is helping design a wreath we will be able to use for the Anzac day ceremony. Some colouring took place to get ready for Easter.

• Our grade 5/6s started looking at maps of Heyfield to get familiar with the streets so next week they can begin their paper rounds.

• We know how much the Gifts of Kindness group made a difference these past four weeks, so this activity will still be running. So is the visiting group to the Laurina Lodge and creating the displays at the town Library.

The ARTs

Visual Art

Apparently, Salvador Dali said one day: “A true artist is not one who is inspired but one who inspires others.”

Looking at all the pieces of artwork our students have completed already, I think it is fair to say that they are inspiring showing they are true artists in progress. Their self-portraits are amazing and it is great to have Mrs Merlo enabling them to think deeper through the learning tasks and be truly creative.

Performing Art

It is hard to believe that our students from our Music program is already ready to perform in front of the school! And what a fantastic performance that was! How amazing! By standing up there at assembly, they have already shown great resilience and courage. Well done.

A note from Mr. Bartlett:

I would like to congratulate 'Legends of the Rhythm' for their wonderful music performance at today's assembly. I was very proud of their efforts and I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. The following students make up the group: Walker Cassidy, Deklan Joncevski, Tess Stuart, Maggie Smith, Jack Molphy and Abel Cusumano. Well done, Legends! 

Mardi Gras items

Bill worked on some helmets with students in case we were going to the Maffra Mardi Gras.

Look at the creativity on decorating their helmets with the theme of Circus!
