Music Performance
Message from Mr. Bartlett
We would like to congratulate the guitar/keyboard group with Elsie Smith singing for their great performance this afternoon.
At next Friday’s assembly, we will have our drum group perform for you.
Thursday activities
Yesterday, our students took part in five different activities in a rotation, while their teachers were busy writing reports for this semester.
Students discussed what their ‘power’ is, in the sense of ‘what they are good at’ and ‘what startegy they use to cheer themselves up when they feel a little flat’. Mental health is always on our radar and being the end of the year, which is usually busy, it is always good to come to conversations around strategies for self-care. Many students mentioned sitting with a book, or a pet; listening to some music or hanging out with friends, I found out Archer Semmens loves doing pottery and he is amazing at it! And I shared my coping strategy, which is dancing. I convinced Megan Stone to join me, and later on, Emily too.
We danced our little hearts out.. and calve too! Our senior students learned to waltz while the juniors enjoyed the chicken dance. We all grooved on the sound of The Macarena and The Nutbush.
Transition Day
Today, we had our first Transition day for the foundation students starting next year. They had a wonderful time creating their first artwork for our school and it was placed straight away in our Art Show.
Next Friday, we will have our second day!
Lots to look forward to.
Art Show
Our first Art Show was a success and we are very proud of the display our students put together, with the guidance of Mrs Merlo. It looks fantastic and we have decided to keep it open for another day! Monday will be your last chance, if you haven’t had the chance to come yet! Don’t miss out!
